FROM BOTTLE CAPS TO PRO V1S: A GOLF ODYSSEY
In the tropical paradise of Trinidad & Tobago, where the sun is always shining and the rum is always flowing, I discovered my love for golf at the ripe age of 8. Armed with nothing but a broken broom and a collection of bottle caps, I set out to conquer the world... or at least the local park.
With the unwavering support of my mother, who watched me for hours as I practiced my swing, I honed my skills and developed a natural talent for the game. I graduated from bottle caps to a Wilson 7 iron, which was a bit too long for me, but hey, I was having the time of my life.
As my skills improved, I moved on to a Spalding 1 iron, which became my trusty sidekick in my quest for golfing greatness. After convincing my dad I was the next Tiger Woods, I was finally gifted a set of junior Wilson clubs. With these new weapons in my arsenal, I was unstoppable.
In my first junior tournament, I faced off against the toughest competition Trinidad had to offer. Despite a triple bogey on the final hole (rookie mistake), I emerged victorious, winning by 2 strokes. This triumph fueled my passion for golf and solidified my belief that I would one day join the ranks of the PGA Tour.
While the PGA Tour remains an elusive and likely delusional dream, my love for golf has only grown stronger over the years. Now the founder of Gransaull Golf, I continue to share my passion for the game with others. My journey from bottle caps to Pro V1s has been filled with many ups and downs, but the "army" of people who have supported me along the way have been instrumental in making Gransaull Golf a reality. For that, I’m truly and eternally grateful.
